Segment 1 (0:00) – Todd analyses the lyrics to the popular song, “Rude”, which is about a young man asking permission of a Dad to marry his daughter. The answer is an unequivocal “No”, however, the young man says he will marry the daughter anyway. In song, a real-life Dad responds to the lyrics of Rude from his perspective.. Segment 2 (8:19) – Dad is called Rude for not giving permission to a young man to marry his daughter.  Should Dad have that prerogative in the 20th century? There is no clear Biblical command, however, it is wisdom for a daughter to ask her Dad to be the “gate keeper” of her heart.
