The Mormon Church’s Efforts to Seem Like a Mainstream Christian Church

Segment 1 (0:00) – Todd shows Film clips from television and asks viewers to guess the Denomination. Each clip looks as if it was produced by fundamental Christians, but each was produced by the Mormon church. The Mormon church is trying to present itself as mainstream Christianity but has fundamental differences from our beliefs. They believe Jesus is a created being, that atonement is achieved by one’s work then helped by Jesus and in baptism for the dead. A Mormon describes his own baptism for a dead man.

Segment 2 (8:10) – Peter Hammond tells the true story of the Crusades against Muslims. Before the crusades began the Muslim believers, in the first 3 centuries of their existence, wiped out 50% of the world’s Christians. Other facts are given to show how the crusades were an attempt to stop the genocide of the Christian church. There were 5 centuries of Jihad before the Crusades began. Many who took part became bankrupt for the attempt. Today people believe the Christians were the aggressors and murderers in the crusades. Bill O’Reilly and Dick Morris defend the right of anyone to run for president no matter his personal beliefs. We as Christians should not mock them but understand how their beliefs differ from correct theology.

Segment 3 (18:02) – As an example of how a lie told enough times becomes the truth to many people, Todd plays a word association game with the names Jimmy Carter and Nelson Mandela. Though both of these men are well thought of in the world both have background episodes that would not be considered admirable. Nelson Mandela especially though revered throughout the world is a radical Marxist. Todd reviews Mormon beliefs that are contrary to true Christianity and suggests ways that the Christian Community can respond to the the lies about the Mormon Church.
