Should There Be Abortion Exceptions?
Todd Friel analyzes answers regarding the life issue from Republican Presidential candidates from the New Hampshire debate, including from Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, and Chris Christie, in light of content from the “Life is Best” project.
Segment 1 (0:00) – Todd Friel contrasts Marco Rubio talking about “a woman’s body, a woman’s choice” with clips from “Life is Best” including Stephen Kendrick discussing how a baby’s blood system is independent of the mother’s, Matt Chandler showing how the government has all sorts of laws limiting how a person’s body can be used, and Scott Klusendorf indicating a black baby can be put in a white mother and the black baby will remain black. In regards to a right to privacy, a Jay Watts clip is used from “Life is Best” to show an assumption the unborn is not human and how privacy is not a justification for the abuse of human beings, such as child abuse.
Segment 2 (10:53) – Todd Friel contrasts Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio’s perspectives of their belief in abortion being okay in the case of when the life of the mother is in danger with a clip from “Life is Best” of Scott Klusendorf talking on a university campus about saving the life of a mother in the case of an ectopic pregnancy because there is no intent to take the life of the baby even though the baby’s death is foreseen. Todd also contrasts the use of the morning after pill with an Adrian Rink “Ten2ndRule” called “Jacket”.
Segment 3 (18:36) – Todd Friel contrasts Chris Christie’s perspective of their belief in abortion being okay for “self defense” in the cases of rape and incest with a clips from “Life is Best” of Megan Almon and Scott Klusendorf talking about how a two-year-old cannot be killed because the two-year-old reminds the mother of the rape that brought the child into the world and Matt Chandler talking about a seventeen year old who was able to persevere to worship God even after being raped.
