Stressed Out: You Are Getting a New Body

We all could use more joy in our lives, right? Despite their hardships the Disciples were filled with joy.  Understand, the same Comforter the Apostles had, is the same Comforter that we now have; we have no reason to be anxious when we lean into, and place our trust fully in God.  A Biblical perspective will bring much to relieve our anxiety.   “You have more power than you are aware of.  Sinful anxiety does not have to be your master.  The Holy Spirit is in you, aiding you, strengthening you and changing you.”  Quote from Stressed Out: A Practical, Biblical Approach to Anxiety.  Learn how the Holy Spirit comforts?  How He consoles?  How He encourages?  How He walks along side of us?

Segment 1 (0:00) – The third person of the Trinity who dwells within every Christian is our great comforter.  God seals us through the Holy Spirit; aligning us to Him and His word.  This is a key reliever to anxiety for us, and our great hope when there is a lack of joy in our lives.  Referenced verses: Matthew 26:36-46, Luke 22:39-46, John 14:16, John 16:5-15, Psalm 119, Romans 6:14, Galatians 5:22-23, Romans 14:17, Romans 8, Acts 13:52.

Segment 2 (9:03) – Under the curse our bodies fall apart; we get sick, we age, disease invades, loss comes in our lives and we can easily focus on the now.  However, when we are given our new body by God when we reach Heaven; our new body will last forever, and this body will be perfect.  Referenced verses: John 14:19-20, Hebrew 2:14-15, 1 Corinthians 15:21-22, 1 Corinthians 15:42-44

Segment 3 (15:21) – Your joy is impossible to disentangle or separate from your salvation.  You must remember; you are no longer on death row.  Your conscience can be clean.  You are not only a forgiven criminal, but you now have peace with God.  It is because of our Justification through Jesus, we are no longer viewed as a criminal.  It is only through Jesus that we can we have a true peace; peace that we are saved from the wrath of God.  Referenced verses: John 14:27, Romans 5:1-2
