Help! I Don’t Have a Conversion Story
All Christians have a conversion story. Some are subtle, lacking a dramatic, headline grabbing conversion “experience”, however, all have moved from death to life. It is possible that a Christian without a conversion story isn’t truly a Christian. For their sake, Todd explains what conversion actually is. He then offers six suggestions for truly regenerate Christians who don’t have a conversion story to consider.
Segment 1 (0:00) – Every Christian has a conversion story and it is not without effect. They may not remember the day or the hour, or even the year, but they certainly remember the season when they moved from darkness to light, their faith becoming real. If you don’t remember such a time in your life then it is likely you have never been saved. There are three reason why this could be. Do you see your sin as exceedingly sinful? Have you repented of that sin? Did you place your faith in something other than Christ?
Segment 2 (9:10) – You may not be saved if you can’t remember getting saved, however, there are some obvious exceptions. Maybe your regeneration was subtle as you grew up in a Christian home being instructed in godliness. Or perhaps you have always loved Jesus and therefore, your affections were not radically changed. Regardless, all Christians have a conversion story, even if their conversion wasn’t dramatic. They have all moved from death to life, no matter how fast or slow, dramatic or subtle.
Segment 3 (16:21) – Todd presents six suggestions for regenerate Christians who lack a conversion story to consider.
